Mobile Food Pantry
COVID-19 Update: This service is currently suspended and has been replaced with Combination Box distributions. Registration is REQUIRED for all distributions during the pandemic, dates for registration are available on our Calendar and Facebook page. There are no income or residency requirements, the registration process is so we can schedule to accommodate the increased demand in a manner that protects both our volunteers and clients from possible exposure. These distributions have been sponsored by a variety of organizations including the USDA and NYS.

Every other Wednesday, fresh produce, bread, and bakery items are distributed free of charge. There are no income nor residency requirements, and families are served on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 2:30, and food is distributed from 3:30 until 5:30, while supplies last. Like us on Facebook for schedule reminders and please bring a large box or some other container to fill with food.

Monthly Food Pantry
COVID-19 Update: This service is currently running in a modified capacity and will generally occur the third week of the month over 2-3 days with appointments scheduled every 15 minutes. Registration is REQUIRED for all distributions during the pandemic, dates for registration are available on our Calendar and Facebook page. There are no income or residency requirements, the registration process is in place so we can schedule to accommodate the increased demand in a manner that protects both our volunteers and clients from possible exposure.

Our food pantry hosts several programs at no cost to our patrons, including a Monthly Distribution of traditional food pantry items. (3rd Friday of every month, 1:30-4).

Emergency Pantry
The Emergency Pantry provides an emergency 5-day supply of food to a household when there is a crisis between normal distributions. This service is available to households once every 90 days by appointment only. Call 585-209-0052 to schedule an appointment for an Emergency Box.

Sharon's Kitchen
COVID-19 Update: This service is currently suspended.

Join us for an expertly prepared hot meal every Tuesday from Noon-1:00pm. This free meal is a ‘noontime dinner.’ Not only is this a good chance to eat a warm meal, but it is also a chance to talk with people you know as well as meet new friends.

Backpack Program
COVID-19 Update: This service has been expanded to help meet the new and changing needs of students in the Cuba-Rushford, Belfast, and Friendship school districts. If you would like to donate to this program, please contact dgaeta@cubaculturalcenter.org or call us at 585-209-0052. Our partnership with Foodlink as well as other local funding organizations allow us to distribute nutritious, kid-friendly food to hungry children for consumption over the weekend. We currently supply packs of food to registered children in the Cuba-Rushford, Belfast, and Friendship school systems. These BackPacks are pre-packed by Foodlink. As COVID-19 changed everyone’s world, this BackPack program has expanded to help fill the gap when students are attending school virtually or a hybrid model.


Rent, Utilities, and Emergency Assistance
As a Salvation Army Service Extension Unit, we manage the annual Red Kettle Drive here in Cuba, NY. Proceeds are used to assist those individuals and families within our service area who are struggling to make ends meet.

Summer Bike Program
COVID-19 Update: This service is currently suspended.

This program provides bicycles to children and adults who cannot afford them. Distributing annually, starting in early spring. All bikes are donated by various organizations. Bikes are available on a first come, first served basis.To be put in the list for a bike, you can call the center at 585-209-0052 or email info@cubaculturalcenter.org.

ATTENTION: We are looking for a volunteer or group of volunteers to run this program. If you enjoy tinkering or working on bikes, consider volunteering!

SUM Speaking UP Matters
COVID-19 Update: This service is currently suspended as it is difficult to meet in person for classes while maintaining safe COVID-19 practices.

Speaking Up Matters is a speakers’ bureau, equipping people with the tools & confidence needed to speak up when they see a need, want to advocate for themselves, or to talk about injustice. Take a leap, because it matters!

Advocacy and Justice Work
The Center administration & staff advocates for struggling families regarding a variety of issues. We serve locally & regionally, as well as at the state and federal levels.Organizations include Suicide Prevention Coalition of Allegany County, Allegany County Housing and Homelessness Task Force, Allegany County Food Coalition, 501C Continuum of Care, HUD.

SOS Survivors of Suicide Loss
COVID-19 Update: This service is currently suspended.

A support group for those who have lost loved ones through suicide. Our meetings use the ASFP (American Society for the Prevention of Suicide) model. We are preparing to launch a new set of meetings, scheduling dates and times around the needs of those who participate.
