Dare to Soar
The Dare to Soar program honors volunteers who have gone above and beyond what is expected in their work at the Cuba Cultural Center. This honor is bestowed periodically based on a volunteer’s merit. Please join us in thanking these amazing volunteers for their hard work at the Center.
Joe Woodward January 2019
Joe Woodward is a new volunteer at the Cuba Cultural Center, starting in November 2018. Though he is new, he has had a huge impact on the Center. In particular, Joe has taken over the Bike Program – repairing the bikes, matching bikes with individuals in need of them, and handling the distribution of the bikes. Additionally, he has worked hard in cleaning the Center, working as a general handy-person, and assisting tirelessly with distributions. Joe is hardworking, willing to undertake any task with a positive attitude.
Sonny Smith February 2019
Royal “Sonny” Smith is a long-time volunteer at the Cuba Cultural Center, starting his volunteer tenure in 2014. Sonny is one of the Center’s longest serving volunteers and brings so much energy to his position. Sonny is an active force in all the Center’s food distributions – working on the line, running boxes to cars, and generally being an up-beat, energetic volunteer. Sonny also brings considerable experience to his volunteer work with a strong work background.
